At the young age of thirteen years old I feel in love with cattle when I bought my first dairy steer. Approximately ten to eleven years ago I was introduced to grass fed beef world and little did I know it, but we now run a seventy plus cow calf operation. We run Red Devon and White Face crosses. The Red Devon originates in New Zealand and is the only cow that is true grass fed.
Our cows never eat grain. They live on grass and hay only and have been recommended by a local doctor to people who have high blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar, and heart problems. Our farm is never sprayed with chemicals or man made fertilizer. We rotational graze our cows every 12-24 hours on new grass. We have roughly 5,000 gallons of spring water on hand every day and that is the only water our cows and goats drink. Our animals are as pure as they come at thistle lane farm.
